When coyotes attack deer
8 04 2008they make a lot of noise. Maybe the coyotes were attacking an animal other than a deer in which case they still make a lot of noise. When I went out on the deck at 2:30 a.m. to check on the commotion our other resident wildlife scattered - the rabbits, THE skunk, and our newest resident according to Cliff -a beaver. Now the last one could be an interesting addition. If the beaver dams up the pond and it floods our back yard we could end up with waterfront property.
The five nights I spent in Paige’s condo in Cincinnati were quite different. There I was only awakened by the sounds of sirens in the city.
I wonder which is better - sirens or slaughter.
I’ll take the woods any day
I’ll take the sirens.
I don’t want to get eaten by a coyote… and snakes freak me out in ways I cannot explain!
Heck, I can barely handle the fact that we have rats… never seen one, but have the poison traps out because the bug guy says they are there because we live so close to the water… gives me the chills….
Don’t know how I would handle a SKUNK… or a BEAVER! Aren’t they mean?
For some reason, the sirens sound more comforting to me… but I’m a city-girl.
I wrote this yesterday, so who knows what la-la land it ended up in. (ending sentence incorrectly - it’s a genetic thing)
What i said was something similar to i’ll take the city sounds any day.
The cicadas are due to start their nightly discordance soon here - it will be through the fall. They replace the croaking bullfrogs that kept me awake in Lincoln. Those noises i can do without.
give me a city, with country to repose to if i am so inclined!
